These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of fincomparelab.com (the “Site”). Using the Site means you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
Who Am I?
I’m Morgan Chen, and I write and run FinCompareLab on my own. I cover budgeting and personal finance app reviews, comparisons, pricing guides, best-of roundups, and a few free tools. You can read more about my approach on how I review apps.
How Can You Use the Site?
You’re welcome to read and share content from the Site for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of the content without my written permission
- Use the content to train AI models without my written permission
- Interfere with the Site’s operation or anyone else’s ability to use it
- Try to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its systems
- Use bots or scrapers to pull content or data at scale
I may limit or block access for anyone who breaks these Terms.
Is Anything Here Financial Advice?
No. Nothing on this Site is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. I’m not a licensed financial advisor. App pricing and features change often, so verify current details directly with the provider before you decide anything. Any financial choice you make based on what you read here is on you. See also my Disclaimer.
How Do the Free Tools and AI Output Work?
The budget calculator, debt payoff estimator, budget app quiz, and Is YNAB worth it tool give estimates based only on what you enter. Real results will differ.
Some tools show insights generated by AI services (Claude from Anthropic and Gemini from Google). AI output can be wrong, so check anything that matters before acting on it. Please don’t enter names, account numbers, or other identifying details. My Privacy Policy explains what happens to the figures you enter.
What About Affiliate Links and Advertising?
Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes how I rate or rank an app. Details are in my Affiliate Disclosure.
The Site may also show ads through third-party providers, including Google AdSense. These providers can use cookies to serve ads based on your visits here and elsewhere. My Privacy Policy covers how that works and what choices you have.
What About Third-Party Links?
I link out to the apps I review and other third-party sites. I don’t control them and I’m not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices. Once you click through, their own terms and privacy policy apply, not mine.
Who Owns the Content?
The writing, original graphics, and layout on this Site are mine (or used with permission) and protected by copyright. App names, logos, and trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners, used here only to identify and compare products, not to claim any affiliation or endorsement unless I say so explicitly.
Are There Any Warranties?
I keep pricing and details as accurate and current as I can, but the Site is provided “as is,” with no warranties of any kind. I can’t guarantee it will be error-free, always available, or that every detail is current the moment you’re reading it.
What Is the Limit of My Liability?
To the extent the law allows, I’m not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages from your use of the Site or from decisions made based on its content.
Will These Terms Change?
I’ll update these Terms as needed. The date at the top shows the most recent revision. If you keep using the Site after a change goes live, that means you accept it.
